Synopsis

Director Simon Chambers had left for India to make a film about cars when his uncle David calls to say he’s dying. Returning to England to care for Uncle David, a closeted old theatre actor who trips around half-naked in his mess of a home quoting Shakespeare, Simon turns on his camera and starts filming his uncle, resulting in a beautiful documentary about the indignities of aging and an undying spirit.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Simon Chambers and moderated by Bernie Folan who hosts Galway Death Cafe, which offers opportunities for regular conversations on death and dying in an open, respectful and friendly space.
